Re: LAMBRETTA SX 200 for sale

I'm having trouble with seeing the site.

Without seeing the pics and only reading the blurb, I would be asking how many years did this SX spend in Asia after leaving Italy?

Re: New Vespa 2012

I'd be cutting that seat in half! It spoils the look, sticking up like that.

Re: GS Styling

I'm with Alfred on this. If the bodywork is sound    it could be a viable propostion (where's my magnet?). The listing makes it clear that it is a Super 150 which has had a makeover - more honest than for example those "ACMA" conversions you often see on Ebay. Fairly subtle ...

Re: newbie / what scooter to buy?

I have a PX200 which is pretty reliable. It's 9 years old now and only a couple of things have gone wrong with it over the years, but nothing terminal. I've gradually taken over doing virtually all the servicing myself. I've also put my name down to try out both the PX150 and LML at the scooter expo...

Re: Newbie problems :(

A friend of mine told me this old mechanic's trick to hold the flywheel still while you undo the nut. Worked well when I had to get the flywheel off the PX a couple of years ago, to change the stator. Take the spark plug out, and stuff a length of (clean) cord (I used venetian blind cord) down the h...

Re: Newbie problems :(

In this case fouled spark plugs are the least of your worries as the mixture is now weak (lean) and the engine susceptible to seizing if run too hard. Eeek! Ta for the info, TC. I didn't know that about oils - I use a Castrol fully synthetic in the Primavera so presume that it has the dispe...

Re: Newbie problems :(

I have a Primavera that sometimes behaves like this, with the backfiring and stuff, if it sits for a while. I can end up kicking it at least 50 times before it finally starts. My theory is that the two stroke oil sinks over time, as when it does start there's a lot of blue smoke, but that may not be...
